To your amaze you will discover the Pidurangala Rock. A place where you can monitor what is happening around the Sigiriya Fortress.
In modern day, visitors climb Pidurangala twice a day. Once at dawn and the next time close to dusk. The view of Sigiriya and the surrounding area from the Pidurangala rock is simply awe-inspiring and a place you must visit on your visit to Dambulla in Sri lanka.
Ascending to the top may require some assistance at the final step since you will have to jump roughly 2 feet from one rock to the other while crawling through boulders.
If you are visiting Pidurangala Rock on your visit to Sigiriya. Remember to take a bottle of water with you and please make sure that you carry what ever is with you back down without loitering.
